New rumor is less exciting

I don't know why I even bother following the referral rumors yet, since we're still quite a ways off from our own. That being said, I guess I'll just keep spreading the juicy tidbits. Sounds like the next batch of referrals will finally be on their way here next week, but will unfortunately only cover through May 25th. So it looks like we are now at least a good six months away from referral day and that's only if they go back to a full month at a time. So most likely July is shot for us, but September could be a good month. There are several September birthdays in my family....

On the brighter side, I guess that's more time to save up and plan. We still haven't made it a point to get our traveling shots started....oh how I hate needles! And then there's all the expiring paperwork we will need to get updated....yuck, more paperwork! Alright, my little pep talk has put me in the mood for a nap.

Wait a minute...in the meantime let me give a glimpse of the nursery-in-progress.

Before......

Well on it's way.....

Saturday has me in the mood for Spring!

Sometimes I just can't believe how lucky I am to have always lived in Florida. Saturday gave us the most beautiful glimpse of Spring right smack in the middle of winter. The mid-seventies weather had me dreaming of colorful flowers and lazy beach days. Of course, Sunday set me straight when it dropped back to the rainy fifties. But, Spring is definitely around the corner. As are the next batch of referrals. Rumor has it most of June 05 may be included...that would leave 5 months more until it's our turn. Hurry up Springtime!

While we wait

So I should come up with a real list of things that I really need to get done while I wait...but you know me better than that, right? It wouldn't be natural if I wasn't running around at the last minute, wishing I had figured some of this out sooner. But in the meantime, I'll just keep pretending that I have all the time in the world to read the books I bought on parenting and adoption, print the how to pack for your trip lists, and buy the "stuff" for the baby. Right now I spend most of my free time reading the Yahoo group posts, reading other folks blogs, and checking the CCAA website for updates (sigh!).

On another note, Tigger Too and Miss Kitty were thrilled to learn that this past weekend marked the beginning of the Year Of The Dog. At least they were happy until l I told them that is only the case in China and no special treatment will be coming their way anytime soon. Also, based on some recent Yahoo discussions about what was served on the lunch buffets while during some folks travels in China...let's just say my spoiled rotten pups better count their blessings and quit their yapping.
